HWL Ebsworth has hired an employment partner in Brisbane.
Heinz Lepahe joins the firm’s workplace relations and safety team from Australian Business Lawyers & Advisors, where he was Brisbane managing director.
Lepahe advises companies on a range of employment matters, including labor disputes and contract negotiations. He also defends corporations in unfair dismissal proceedings and against government agency prosecutions.
Prior to his two years at Australian Business Lawyers & Advisors, Lepahe was a partner for a year at Mills Oakley Lawyers. Between 2008 and 2011, he was a partner at Cooper Grace Ward and before that spent two years as a partner at the former Nicol Robinson Halletts Lawyers, which later merged with Herbert Geer & Rundle to create the firm now known as Herbert Geer. Previously, he was a partner at Murdoch Lawyers.
HWL Ebsworth has about 500 lawyers, including 188 partners, in its six offices in Australia.
