Bingham McCutchen has added a partner in Beijing.

Frederick Chang was one of the co-founders of 30-lawyer Chinese law firm FenXun Partners. He focuses on advising international financial institutions and private equity funds on their investments in China.

Before co-founding 30-lawyer FenXun in late 2009, Chang was a partner in Beijing with Lovells, White & Case and the former King & Wood. From 1998 to 2002, he was Singapore-based Asia general counsel and head of compliance for Deutsche Bank. Earlier in his career he was an in-house lawyer for Goldman Sachs and an associate with Debevoise & Plimpton in New York.

Wang Yingzhe, managing partner at FenXun, says Chang left on good terms and that his departure will not affect the firm’s business.

According to its website, Boston-based Bingham has four lawyers in Beijing. Globally, the firm has 800 lawyers in 14 offices.
