Foley & Lardner has brought aboard a partner in Washington, D.C., to co-chair its China practice.
Richard “Tad” Ferris is joining the Milwaukee-based firm from the Washington office of Florida’s Holland & Knight, where he was also partner on the China team. He specializes in product-safety and environmental issues arising in foreign investments in China, where he usually coordinates with local lawyers and firms.
Ferris had been a partner with Beveridge & Diamond in D.C. before joining Holland & Knight in 2005.
Foley & Lardner has 115 lawyers, including, 58 partners in its Washington, D.C. office. The firm has about 900 lawyers in 20 offices, including Shanghai and Tokyo.
