Korean firm Yoon & Yang has hired a partner in Seoul.
Do Hyung Kim was previously a partner with Yulchon specializing in mergers and acquisitions. Last year, he acted for quasi-governmental agency Korea Asset Management Corp. on the $400 million sale of a 9.9 percent stake in South Korea insurer Kyobo Life Insurance Co. Ltd. to Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan.
Kim joined Yulchon as a partner in 2002 from Bae, Kim & Lee, where he began his private practice career seven years before. Earlier in his career, he briefly worked as a prosecutor in the Daegu District Prosecutors’ Office.
Yoon & Yang has about 290 lawyers, including 111 partners, with offices in Seoul, Tokyo and Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
